Steps in wing making...

1. Bend wire into frame

2. Cover with lycra, sew

3. Pad, add elastic, cover

4. Add glitter - this

may take days

as each colour

needs to dry first

6. AND both sides

of both wings

need doing.

7. Add fine detail

with glitter glues.

8. Sew on sequins

..... etc.

9. Fly!

Unique & unusual they really turn heads! With comfy elastic straps, these are so light you hardly notice them.

These wings have a steel wire frame, covered with lycra in a range of colours. Glitter (quality flakes which really sparkle) and finer glitter glue details are added, as well as sequins, flowers, etc, in some cases. Be aware each pair can take up to 5 days to complete!

You can get cheap fancy dress wings on Ebay, but those are often fine soft wire frames, joined with cardboard, that do not last long.

The choices:

In general I make 2 sizes :

Flitters are single pairs of wings. These are usually smaller and joined by a bar with thinner (approx 2 cm wide) elastic loops attached to it. From £50. E.g

Flyers are double pairs of wings. These are usually larger and joined by a ring, with wider (approx 1 inch ) elastic straps attached to it. From £80. E.g
